Big Ten Blogger’s Pick’em: Week 12

Last week was a challenging week, who would have thought Minnesota would beat Illinois? None of us got that right. Who would have thought Northwestern would beat Iowa? ME that's who! Boooyaaah! With that prediction I've tied things up with my fellow prognosticators here at Linebacker-U at 59-15. Considering we all have that score and Linebacker-U is sitting at 60-14, I'd say we've managed to squeeze out the most possible wins with our picks. Good for us. Picks and comments to follow the jump.

Another week where I think Michigan State would usually go down to a lesser opponent. But they won't. The Spartans really, really want to head into Happy Valley next week with a Big Ten title shot. I somehow got the Michigan over Illinois pick two weeks ago, and I'm going with the Wolverines once again. Not sure why. Just have a feeling that Wisconsin will have issues with the Michigan offense. Ohio State won't underestimate Iowa as the Buckeyes did last week against Penn State. I'm looking for Jim Tressel to have his team ready, while Iowa is turning into one of the biggest disappointments in college football this year--yes, more than Penn State. Had Dan Persa not gone down for the season, I would have picked Northwestern. But Illinois should come out of Wrigley with a win.

After last week I look at these games and I think anyone could win. Ohio State showed they were human against Penn State, Northwestern proved they can hang with anyone, and I'm still waiting for the Michigan State late season collapse. Wisconsin looked unstoppable against Indiana but Michigan will score points on them and there's no way the Badgers keep up that pace. I'll take Michigan State just because they should win, Wisconsin because they are firing on all cylinders, Ohio State because the universe hates me and I want them to lose bad, and Illinois because Northwestern is without their offensive leader.
