Owings Mills (MD) lineman Donovan Smith announced moments ago at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl that he will commit to Penn State.

This is a very big grab for Penn State. The class is reaching its limit for scholarship commits, and Smith is critical to giving some real depth here. The 2011 class is growing heavy on the lines, both offense and defense.

There aren't any others announcing today, but New York lineman/linebacker Ishaq Williams could do it any day, with Penn State in the top choices. This could be a very good weekend for Penn State recruiting, particularly after such a bad start.

According to Sean Fitz at Lions247.com, Smith's final grouping also included N.C. State and UCLA, and Smith also claimed scholarship offers from Cincinnati, Connecticut, Clemson, Duke, Illinois, Maryland, Michigan State, North Carolina, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Syracuse, Virginia, Virginia Tech and West Virginia.
