Tuesday Recruitin': Three more offers

The offers are flowing out of Penn State these last few weeks. Surprising, mostly because the Nittany Lions expect to pull in a relatively small class in 2011, possibly as few as 12. That's a bit dramatic, as we all know the kind of attrition that goes on with major college programs. But with 20 offers out already, including those we'll talk about today, Penn State doesn't seem to be taking any chances. There are some big targets already for 2011. Let's see a few more.

New offers

Aundrey Walker (Rivals/Scout/ESPN) - The junior offensive lineman out of Cleveland is just gaining steam as a recruit, being named to the Rivals250 watch list for 2011. Coming in at 6-foot-6, 335 pounds, he just adds more to the theory that Penn State is going for more size in this year's crop of offensive line prospects. Walker is a real road-grader up front, in the style of Wisconsin's traditionally behemoth offensive lines. So far, Walker has about six scholarship offers, including Ohio State, Michigan, Michigan State, Indiana, Illinois, and West Virginia and Pitt out of the Big East.

Donovan Smith (Rivals/Scout/ESPN) - Another offensive lineman prospect, Smith is cast in the more traditional Penn State mold, with 6-foot-5 height, but only 257 pounds. The Owings Mills star is on the Rivals250 watch list, and is expected to rise on the boards of other recruiting services as the season heats up. Smith has received scholarship offers from mostly eastern schools. UConn, Duke, Maryland, Pitt, Rutgers, Virginia, Virginia Tech, and West Virginia have all officially contacted Smith.

Darius Jennings (Rivals/Scout/ESPN) - Jennings is currently the No. 4 quarterback according to Scout.com, also making the Rivals250 watch list for 2011. The all-purpose phenom out of The Gilman School in Baltimore played both ways last season, racking up 2,028 rush yards, 733 pass yards, and 35 total touchdowns. On defense, Jennings was also a great defensive back, playing both corner and safety. As you would expect, Jennings is pushing 20 scholarship offers. The likes of Boston College, Georgia Tech, Illinois, Iowa, Maryland, Michigan, North Carolina, Ohio State, Pitt, Rutgers, Stanford, Virginia Tech and West Virginia have all made scholarship offers. He reportedly has Penn State near the top of his list, mostly due to location, but other stuff, too.
