Penn State offers FL RB Tre Mason

Penn State has made just its second scholarship offer to a running back for the 2011 class. Florida running back Tre Mason (Rivals/Scout/ESPN) has been on Penn State's radar for months now. However, with Savon Huggins possibly cooling on the Nittany Lions, this looks like an option to fill the desired running back position in the 2011 class.

Mason has been forced to look at out-of-state option, due to the in-state powers--Miami, Florida and FSU--lack of serious interest. But don't think that's a bad omen. Programs have been known to go into the Sunshine State and pull out some real gems, players that are grossly underrated due to the fact that they play in such an elite recruiting base like Florida. Mason looks like a great back.

I'll have more on Mason later today in the weekly Tuesday Recruitin' segment.

  1. just added tre to facebook and wished him good luck, also saw some video's on this RB, he looks powerful and he's very athletic and great on his feet. the only comment he left amoung his 1,250 and counting friends of facebook was "I DID NOT COMMIT TO PENN STATE, just to clear the rumors" and also "WVU is still in the mix" that was on aug 6th. he thanked me for my comment and didn't delete me. anyhow i do wish the boy well were ever he goes "which i hope is penn state"
