Linkbacker U thumbs through week 1 punditry

The Nittany Lion [1]
Ok, 1-0 is great, but 2-0 will take a bit more work...
It's Labor Day. So you're probably not even reading this right now. That's why I won't get into any kind of depth or analysis. Here are some tidbits from the weekend past, and for the week ahead, including tonight's big one in our nation's capital.

ESPN Gameday coming to Tuscaloosa - GoPSUSports.com :: We already kinda knew this.

Nick Saban Be Trolling - Victory Bell Rings :: Nick Saban feels his defending national champs need motivation to beat Penn State. That doesn't sound too good for the Tide.

Penn State post-game player interviews - NittanyWhiteOut.com :: Devon got a press pass, brought a video camera. Great stuff.

Tom Bradley reluctant to use nickel D - Bob Flounders, PennLive.com :: Derrick Thomas made a big boo-boo the one time PSU used five DBs.

Recruits at the YSU game - Sean Fitz, Lions247 :: See who made it for the opener.

Brett Brackett a natural leader - TheTimes-Tribune.com :: Fluff on Brackett. But nice fluff.

Colasanti shines in first start - CentreDaily.com :: Fluff on Colasanti. But like the Brackett fluff, this is nice fluff, too.

Big Ten Helmet Stickers, Week 1 - Adam Rittenberg, ESPN :: Rob Bolden gets one.

Temple gameday video by a cute girl - Temple Football Forever :: Nice recap by TFF of the game and Villanova's class in defeat; plus, a great video by a Temple fan and her friends.

Tate Forcier is "out" - Maize n' Blue Nation :: According to Forcier, "All you need to know is, I'm out."

Oh, wait, no he's not - MGoBlog.com :: Maybe Tate ran his mouth a bit.

Upon Further Review, Vanderbilt - Lake the Posts :: A new look for a great blog, and a win over an SEC team to boot!

Oregon puts 72-0 beating on New Mexico - Sporting News :: Bunch of bullies.

Don't be fooled by Michigan, Notre Dame, USC after week 1 - Stewart Mandel, SI.com :: Some sane advice from SM, though he obviously just watched the highlights of the PSU-YSU game, and not the full game itself. Otherwise, he wouldn't have looked so amateur on his analysis of PSU's secondary.

Ok, Boise St: Losing to Va Tech is the right thing - Greg Doyel, CBS :: I couldn't agree more with Doyel, who offers up one of the most honest columns I've read in a while.

***

Tim will have a recap tomorrow of other Big Ten and national action, which will usually go up on Mondays or late Sunday nights. Also tomorrow, Nick's BlogPoll ballot draft. There's more to come this week, but those are just some highlights.
