Talor Battle earns co-Player of the Week

Finally this season, Talor Battle gets a little--though still far too little in the overall scheme of things--recognition for what he's been doing to keep Penn State's NCAA tournament hopes alive, while possibly crushing a few other teams' along the way.
Penn State’s Talor Battle posted two 20-point games and surpassed 1,900 career points, leading Penn State in victories over Iowa and No. 17/15 Wisconsin last week. Battle averaged 22.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists while shooting 51.7 percent from the floor. The senior scored a game-high 23 points on 8-of-13 shooting in Penn State’s 65-51 victory over Iowa. In the Lions’ win against the Badgers, he logged 20 of his 22 points in the second half and scored 12 of Penn State’s first 16 points of the second stanza to lead Penn State to a 56-52 victory. This marks Battle’s first weekly award of the season and the second of his career.

Last Penn State Player of the Week: Jamelle Cornley (Jan. 26, 2009)
And yes, I also am quite disturbed that Penn State hasn't been able to grab a player of the week award in almost two years to the day.

No matter, congrats to Talor. He still deserves much better, but this is good for the moment.
