This is an interesting verbal for more than what meets the eye. Alosi graduated high school in May, at only 17 years of age. Following a very light recruitment his senior year--including a preferred walk-on invite from Penn State--Alosi decided against playing college ball, enrolling at his current prep school in south Jersey.
As BSD pointed out, this recruit, while underwhelming on paper, is good for a few reasons. Alosi kick-starts what has too be a strong final recruiting push this year. Obviously there is something the coaches really like about him. And having spent a year at a prep school, Alosi's added nearly 25 pounds of muscle to his 6-foot-6, 285-lbs frame, and is overall much more mature compared to the typical incoming true freshman.
Welcome aboard, Anthony!
