Since opening the Big Ten conference schedule a relatively disastrous (for Penn State's standards) 3-3, the Nittany Lions (19-4, 9-3 Big Ten) have reeled off six straight wins, including victories over No. 22 Minnesota, No. 19 Northwestern, while avenging earlier losses to Indiana and Purdue.
Speaking of the Hoosiers and Boilermakers, here's the roundup from last week.
Blair Brown Player of the Week
Considering her career at Penn State to this point, it's kind of amazing this is only Blair Brown's second Big Ten co-Player of the Week award ever. It's the first this season.
"Brown led the team in kills in wins over Indiana and Purdue, including a career-high 23 Saturday night against the Boilermakers. The senior finished with 16 kills against Indiana before her career-night against Purdue, which also included 13 digs. Brown recorded 39 kills on the weekend and registered a .345 hitting percentage. Senior Blair Brown (Purcellville, Va.) led the Nittany Lions (18-4, 8-3 Big Ten) with 16 kills, tallying eight in the third set alone. Freshman Ariel Scott (Ridgewood, N.J.) was second on the team with nine kills on .533 hitting, while senior Arielle Wilson (Broadview, Ill.) registered eight kills on 13 errorless swings. Sophomore Kristin Carpenter (Mechanicsville, Va.) dished out 37 assists and finished second on the team with 10 digs. Senior libero Alyssa D'Errico (Byron, N.Y.) posted a match-high 12 digs, while Wilson led Penn State with six total blocks.No. 9 Penn State vs Purdue - W, 3-1 (25-16, 25-21, 23-25, 25-23)
The Nittany Lions hit .395 for the match and held the Hoosiers to .161. Penn State totaled 46 kills, two aces, 36 digs and 9.0 total team blocks. Indiana closed out the match with 35 kills, two aces, 23 digs and 2.0 team blocks."

The Nittany Lions hit .301 against the Boilermakers (15-8, 6-6 Big Ten) and totaled 64 kills, two aces, 74 digs and 8.0 total team blocks. Purdue registered a .155 attack percentage and recorded 51 kills, two aces, 68 digs and 7.5 team blocks."
No movement for No. 9 Penn State in the AVCA Coaches Poll this week.
What's Next?
The Nittany Lions are back on the road next weekend with their second meetings of the regular season with Michigan and Michigan State. Penn State faces the Wolverines on Friday, Nov. 5 at 7 p.m. and the Spartans on Saturday, Nov. 6 at 6:30 p.m.

If there is a year to beat PSU women's volleyball, this year is it.
