Always for the Glory: NFL Update Week 14

It was a fantastic week for one of Linebacker U's very own, as Sean Lee erupted onto the scene with two interceptions, one going for a pick-6. Oh, and Lee's interceptions came against some quarterback named Peyton who wore a horseshoe on his helmet.

Adding to that, Cameron Wake is now the NFL leader in sacks this season (12), while Tamba Hali picked up two more sacks, and a forced fumble, in the Chiefs' divisional win this week.

And finally to note this week, Jeremy Kapinos--who gets bounced around the league like a pinball--hooked up with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

There are still 29 former Nittany Lions currently on NFL rosters, including a few who are making quite the impression on their teams.

From Aaron Maybin making a tackle (holy cow!) to Tamba Hali and Cameron Wake tearing up the AFC, and a few more pleasant surprises in between. It's all in this week's Always For The Glory update.

Paul Posluszny looks like he's finally back. Bryan Scott teamed with Poz to help earn the Bills their first win of the season. While Deon Butler is proving why Penn State fans made all those shirts saying "Throw the Ball to Butler."

On the downside, I finally figured out what happened to Jeremy Kapinos. He was only signed to the Colts for a week, then cut. So Kapinos is done again for now.

NFC North

Chicago Bears - Chicago Bears 27, Minnesota Vikings 13

This week: Chicago @ Miami, 8:20 p.m. Thursday on the NFL Network.

Anthony Adams (1999-02), DT

Robbie Gould (2001-04), K
Gould was 2-for-3 in field goal attempts, connecting on kicks of 34 and 37 yards, and converted on all three of his PATs.

Well it was finally a good weekend for the current Nittany Lions after beating Minnesota, and the Penn State alums had a solid one as well. One of the great quarterbacks in the school's history got a chance to show he still has what it takes in his 16th season,a few defensive linemen wreaked havoc on opposing quarterbacks, and a couple graduates from Linebacker-U were paid homage to their school's namesake with solid days as well.

QB Kerry Collins, Panthers
Starting in place of the injured Vince Young, Collins completed 17 of 31 passes for 276 yards and three touchdown passes. He is the only current NFL quarterback to hail from Happy Valley and is continuing to succeed almost two decades after that magical 1994 season.

Here's your weekly Penn State football alumni update, with last week's results and this upcoming week's NFL schedule. Ryan should be back in the saddle next week or one after. Student life doesn't offer much of a concrete schedule, so I'm filling in for now.

Week three of the NFL season is in the books, and it was a week that one former Penn Stater will remember for years to come. While a couple PSU alums still remain on the sidelines as they battle injuries, others were seeing the field for the first time this season.

He wasn’t able to do much in week two for the Chiefs, but Hali had perhaps the best game of his career this past week against the San Francisco 49ers. Hali racked up three sacks and a forced fumble for Kansas City as they rolled over the 49ers 31-10 to remain undefeated.

I'm not expecting too much for Penn State this Saturday, but I'm still pumped as hell for football this week. Sure its a new season for the J-E-T-S and my fantasy football team, but there's nothing better than watching the former Nittany Lions that I saw running out of the Beaver Stadium tunnel now try and make it into the league on Sundays.
